Flatwork (Architectural Shotcrete)
Our Flo finishes result in a variety of thick-textured shotcrete. Our nozzle finish leaves shotcrete with its natural pocked texture, like that of a popcorn ceiling. A knock-down finish is scraped to resemble an orange peel ceiling, and our floated finish is scraped like sand-finished stucco. We also sculpt steel trowel finishes, which provide a texture reminiscent of smooth concrete slabs.
Nozzle
Shotcrete is left “as-is” after it is shot. The pneumatic placement of the shotcrete leaves it with a pocked texture resembling a popcorn ceiling texture.
Knock-down
Shotcrete is scraped flat with a piece of lumber or similar material to provide a “smoothed out” finish. There is still some pocked texture in the wall, and the texture is like a knock-down or orange peel ceiling texture.
Smooth Finish
Shotcrete is scraped flat with manufactured concrete cutting tools to flatten out the surface, then final finished with a manufactured wooden floating tool. The final texture is similar to sand-finish stucco.
Steel Trowel
Shotcrete is finished with metal tooling to provide a texture similar to a smooth concrete slab.
